They live a long time, sometimes up to 100 years. Thus, your friendship will be extremely long, even lifelong. Training these 3 types of parrots will yield the best results. If you are interested in any other type then please get our parrot training newsletter and know it all.
African Grey
These parrots are medium sized and are usually of a greyish colour. This is a grey parrot but you can see them with red heads and wings. This type of parrot speaks best. They will talk to you if you train them properly. However it can never be guaranteed that the Grey you choose will talk no matter what. Sometimes a Grey will never talk or show any signs of talking. Give them lots of attention to make friends or they will be likely to scream alot. Once bonded, the bird will be loyal and will love you more than you can think possible.
Conure
These parrots are small sized and have very big tails attached to their bodies. They come in many colours and are extremely intelligent. They are jokers, they will play all day. They are good for learning cool tricks and remembering them. Speaking parrots are cool but it takes traiing to get them to talk. The drawback is that they are best matched to owners who have lots of time to spend with them.
This is due to the fact that they need many hours of training every day to instill proper behavioir. These birds usually screech very much and make a lot of noise and racket but if they are given an early training then they can be made to control themselves so that the screeching does not become a problem.
Macaw
These parrots have been known to survive for about more than fifty years and knowing this you should be ready for a long relation with your bird. Get a big cage because this is a big parrot. Make sure you get this parrot a wide cage. If you want this parrot to be happy then you should let it out of its cage.
They have great beaks and bite stuff out. Give them lots of toys so they they dont attack your furniture and ruin it. Being such an intelligent bird you need to keep its mind active so get it some parrot toys.
Remember parrot training is important, never neglect your parrot or you could end up with parrot behaviour problems.
