Is Toilet Training Cats Difficult?

There will be certain things that you will need to know if you want your cat to become toilet trained.
First of all you need to understand something about your cat. Your cat will not respond to being too well. Show the cat that you are not happy by the tone in your voice, but only if you see your cat doing something that you don't want it to do. It's pointless reprimanding your pet unless you catch it in the act.
Cats, unlike humans think in the present, and don't really understand the notion of dwelling in the past. So if you catch your cat in the act of doing its business on your carpet, don't even think about rubbing its nose in it. Your cat will just learn not to approacg you.
Back to toilet training cats, you can toilet train your cat in a week or it might take a month or so. It all depends on your cat and your relationship with it.
You will need to get your cats litter tray and place it next to the toilet. This allows your cat to become familiar with the toilet.
The next step is to get an item called a cat toilet training bowl. The cat toilet training bowl is positioned into the toilet. You would then place some cat litter in this bowl. Then you should pick up your cat and put it onto the bowl. You can almost guarantee that your cat will leap off it.
This is not a problem as you should expect your cat to do this. All you are doing is letting your cat know that the bowl is there and that it contains cat litter. Then you try to put your cat in the bowl a few times a week, this may just be enough to get your cat using the toilet. If on the other hand your cat doesn't use it, then you will need to take away your cats litter tray, and all other litter trays in the house.
Once your cat understands that all the litter trays have vanished, it should turn its attention to the bowl in your toilet. Toilet training cats is a matter of patience and the ability to understanding the cat temperament.
Make sure that when your cat starts to use the toilet, that you give it lots of praise and attention. Although cats come across as loners, they do bond with their owners and like all the attention that they can get. Another thing is that your cat will come to understand that by acting in a certain way will result in getting rewarded.
Regardless whether its toilet training for cats or any other sort of training to find a solution for your cats problems, the thing to keep in mind is that cat training works.
