Knowing your dwarf hamster is a great thing to help you have a bond with your tiny fury friend. Hamsters do not require a lot of work but they are fun to watch and play with. Hamsters like cleanliness so they do require a little work with the up keep of their cages. You need to provide a proper nutritional diet to keep them healthy so this is a small job.
Dwarf hamsters also require a lot of exercise. But if you provide enough entertainment for them it will not require a lot on your part. This will maintain a happy and healthy hamster. Your pet hamster can be possessive with their property. Try not to rearrange items like their water and food bowls, potty area, and nesting area. The toys and tubes you can move around to keep them from being bored.
Do not get discouraged if you get nipped when you first bring home your pet. You will have to take some time, training and patience. The dwarf hamster will get annoyed with you causing them to curl and lay back their ears. If you disturb them while their sleeping you will usually see this because they are nocturnal pets. Let your pet get fully awake before you handle your hamster.
Even though your hamster is small they still need to have a lot of room to roam. So provide them with a good size cage or even a dual cage with tunnels to go back and forth in. So they do not die from boredom. Hamsters are fast and can run for miles a day in their natural habitat. If you take your pet out of their cage then put your pet in a ball or hamster mobile. But do not put them around steps or where anyone can kick it by accident. Your hamster may get seriously hurt or even death can occur.
A good pet to have for you and the rest of your family are dwarf hamsters they are fun, cute and fury. Dwarf hamsters are tiny and fragile pets. Find information on cages and location, toys, nutrition, illnesses, when to see a vet, choosing a healthy hamster, training, bedding, cage accessories, types of dwarf hamsters and much more.
