Common Mistakes

Some of the common mistakes done by the aquarium owners are to add new fish within few days after they had set up the tanks. This can turn to be a blunder as in some cases the water would not have stabilised in respects of temperature or the non-neutralised harmful components. It is always advisable to not add too many fish at once with a new aquarium set up as the bacterial colonies may not have been fully established or the ammonia and nitrate levels would be high to suit large number of fish.

Tips

· Testing the water for the required specifications is always beneficial. Knowing the nature of the fish is very important because most of the aquarium starters go by the looks of the fish failing to notice the key points on its maintenance.

Bigger aquariums are a little easier to set up as any errors are less evident as they would be in smaller fish tanks. The cleanliness of water and addition of fish medicines are to be followed carefully.
